Product Introduction
Product Information
Polyacrylamide (PAM for short) is a commonly used artificial flocculant. This product has the properties of flocculation,
thickening, shearing, drag reduction, and dispersibility. It is easily soluble in water and easily decomposed when the
temperature exceeds 120°C. The solid is white or slightly yellow powder, and the liquid is colorless and viscous.
Our company has three types, anionic, cationic, and non-ionic polyacrylamide, which can be obtained through chemical modification.
The homopolymer formed by the polymerization of a single acrylamide is non-ionic, and its molecules are not charged.
The copolymer formed by the copolymerization of acrylamide and anionic monomers (such as sodium acrylate) is anionic,
and its molecules are negatively charged. For the same reason, the copolymer generated by acrylamide and cationic
monomers is cationic, and its molecules are positively charged.
The copolymer contains some ionic monomers, which shows some ionic characteristics. We use the percentage of ionicity
to express how much charge is on the polymer molecular chain. The higher the ionicity, the more charge is on the molecular
chain. In this way, the ionicity of non-ionic polyacrylamide is zero. What charge (i.e. ionicity) and how much charge (i.e. ionicity)
the polyacrylamide molecular chain carries are important considerations when selecting polyacrylamide flocculants.
Polyacrylamide is a synthetic polymer with a relatively high molecular weight. The molecular weight of polyacrylamide
always refers to the average molecular weight, which indicates the average length of each polymer molecule.
The larger the molecular weight, the more chain segments each molecule contains, or the longer the average length of each molecule.
From the perspective of molecular weight, the flocculation effect of polyacrylamide is not only related to the molecular weight,
but also to the molecular structure (straight chain, branched chain, cross-linked) and molecular weight distribution (wide, narrow).

How to Use
1. The amount of polyacrylamide added to the mixing box is determined according to the degree of dispersion required.
Generally, it is added continuously, and the amount is basically around 0.1%-0.3%.
2. The amount added to the mixed pulp bin is about 0.1%-0.2%. The addition method is generally intermittent addition,
and it is best to add it 15 minutes before pouring the material to avoid stirring for too long. And reduce its dispersion effect.
3. The stirring and dissolving time should not be too long. Generally, the stirring time is about 1-1.5 hours, otherwise it will
destroy its dispersion effect.
4. Because the aqueous solution of polyacrylamide will automatically hydrolyze within 24-48 hours, lose viscosity, and eventually
lose its dispersion effect, so when using it, dissolve the polyacrylamide on site.
5. Because polyacrylamide cannot be 100% dissolved when it is dissolved, there must be a small part of gel groups that are not
completely dissolved, so filtering equipment must be added when it is used to prevent these gel groups from getting on the paper
machine, hanging on the net and sticking to the wool cloth.
6. Before starting the paper machine, polyacrylamide should be added first so that there is polyacrylamide solution in the system to
prevent the undispersed long fibers from agglomerating and make the production reach normal state more quickly.
7. When the amount of polyacrylamide added changes, the dehydration speed of the pulp on the paper machine will change accordingly.
If the amount of polyacrylamide added is adjusted too much, the dehydration will be too fast or too slow, affecting the normal and
stable production.

Application:
Adding our polyacrylamide dispersant during the papermaking process can dissolve within 60 minutes, and can promote good dispersion
of papermaking fibers and excellent paper forming effect at low addition amounts.
Strengthening agent:
polyacrylamide can increase the strength and toughness of paper, thereby improving the paper's burst resistance, tensile strength and other
properties. This is because polyacrylamide can form hydrogen bonds with paper raw materials such as cellulose, thereby strengthening the
internal structure of the paper.
Retention aid: polyacrylamide can form floccules with paper raw materials such as cellulose, so that cellulose and other substances in the pulp are better
retained in the paper, which helps to improve the retention rate of the paper, reduce the loss of pulp, and thus increase the output of paper.
Filter aid: polyacrylamide can make cellulose and other substances in the pulp better filtered, thereby improving the filtration speed and quality
of the paper. This helps to improve the quality and output of paper, and can also reduce the waste and pollution of pulp.
Papermaking polyacrylamide is an important chemical additive for paper production, which has the function of improving the physical and
chemical properties of paper. By using papermaking polyacrylamide, the quality of paper can be improved, production efficiency can be
increased, and contributions can be made to the development of the paper industry. This product can be used for various household papers
such as toilet paper, napkin paper, facial tissue paper and other thin paper.
